We subscribe to the theory of holistic scaffolding through professional mentorship, access to infrastructure, peer support, and emotional bonding. To address the infrastructural component, we pay for all food, transportation, and materials for day-long workshops.
In 2019, 50 mentees were chosen from the high schools in townships in the Western Cape. They meet twice a month, with one session each month being comprised of a learning or teaching workshop. The topics covered are:
Cloud literacy through Google Drive, Google Maps, and GMail
Google Search in a browser
Curricula Vitae Workshopping
Cover Letter Writing
Varsity and Bursary Application Process
Career selection-- how to choose a course based on
Other activities include hikes, makerspace workshops, 1:1 meetings with mentors, company visits, or forming and participating in a study group with fellow mentees in the same mentor cohort.
We rely on the generosity of our donors to make this program possible. We would really appreciate if you considered contributing today!
